IAS Salary Structure
The salary of all the civil servants is the same initially, i.e., it belongs to Group A, and the payment level is 10.The basic IAS Salary starts from Rs.56 100; this does not include Transport allowance, HRA, and DA. The salary of an IAS can go up to Rs.2,50,000, which is for the position of a Cabinet Secretary. Salary Structure from Basic to Highest
Pay Level 10- This is the first level where the basic salary is 56,100. The post for this salary is applicable for Sub-divisional magistrate in District Administration, Assistant Secretary in Central Secretariat, and Undersecretary in State Secretariat. This salary is for the first to fourth year.
Pay Level 11- This is the next pay level; here, the salary increases to 67,700. The post for which this salary is applicable is an Additional district magistrate in District Administration, Deputy Secretary in State Secretariat, and Under-secretary in State Secretariat. This salary is for the fifth to the eighth year.
Pay Level 12- This is the next pay level; here, the salary increases to 78,800. The post for which this salary is applicable is Joint Secretary in State Secretariat, Deputy Secretary in Central Secretariat, and District Magistrate in District Administration. This salary is for nine to twelve years in service.
Pay Level 13- This is another pay level, and here your salary will become 1,18,500. The post for which this salary is applicable is Special secretary-cum-director in State Secretariat, District magistrate in District Administration, and Director in Central Secretariat. This pay level is for people who continue their job for thirteen to sixteen years.
Pay Level 14- In this pay level, your salary will increase to 1,44,200, and this is applicable for people who are Secretary-cum-commissioner in State Secretariat, Divisional commissioner in District Administration, and Joint Secretary in Central Secretariat. This pay level is for people who continue their job for sixteen to twenty-four years.
Pay Level 15- Knowing the salary structure is important as it can also be asked in the IAS exam as well. So, at this level, the salary increases to 1,82,200. The post for which this salary is applicable is Principal Secretary in State Secretariat, Divisional commissioner in District Administration, and Additional Secretary in Central Secretariat. This pay level is for people who continue their job for twenty-five to thirty years.
Pay Level 16- The salary here will become 2,05,400 and is applicable for the Additional Chief Secretary in State Secretariat. This salary is for people who stay in service for thirty to thirty-three years.
Pay Level 17- The salary here will become 2,25,000 and is applicable for Secretary in Central Secretariat and Chief Secretary in State Secretariat. This salary is for people who stay in service for thirty-four to thirty-six years.
Pay Level 18- This is the highest pay level and the maximum IAS salary, i.e., 2,50,000, for the Cabinet Secretary of India. This salary is for people who stay in service for more than thirty-seven years.
